Formally 1000km

So a milestone on the Nike+ site - 1,000km (so about 625 miles) since I started tracking. Which is just over 100 hours on my feet.
Means less as due to flat batteries I didn't track anything during April - including the LM.
But still a formal note of the effort gone in to date....

It's a life style :o)

First run in ages that felt like it should...

Think the suffering on the tow path may have put me back on track... last night did a 9 miler and it felt like it should.
I think this week's Marathon Talk helped a lot as well.... kept me out there for the full go.
Let's see how today's 6 miler goes before getting too up.
Good that in re-syncronising with my training plan - having missed 6 or 10 weeks - is an easy week. Next week will be the full test, resulting in a 20 miler on the Sunday.

Let's see...

The magic of running healthy

Wish I knew what that was - having self diagnosed hay fever before the HM to find after that its a heavy head cold!!! Doh! Doh! Doh! Doh! Doh!

Blown to bits

So the Up Tow Down Half marathon.... I should have known better. Missed too much training for it to be easy!!! So it simply wasn't.
Used some good pacing early on - hovering between 10 and 11 minute miles - nice and steady. Then on my own and then boom - blown to bits. The last 4 miles were pure suffering. A great route along the tow path of the Thames from Eaton to Marlow think it would be better next year when any incline will be down :o)
After the race I thought I was in trouble as I walked back into town - think the heat really did have an effect. 4 pints of fluid in an hour helped recover.... felt harder than all the other races!
Will have to re-evaluate Nottingham, seven weeks to go and not sure I can get enough time on my feet. One thing for certain - I will suffer :o) I must be mad!

The least prepared but probably the best route....  let's see what splendid suffering tomorrow brings

Out the door and round the corner

Made it out the door and did a simple 5k.
My mood has shown instant improvement - it's amazing what running does for energy and positivity levels. All in all I think that means I'm an addict! Happy to admit it, don't want to cure it :o)
See if I say the same thing after Sunday's HM ...haha

A long road back to the start

Struggling to get out of the door - lots of things standing in my way. Same old monsters of the mind I think!
8 weeks till Nottingham and HM up the tow path next weekend...
Must get going.

Grumpy stressed and grumpy, stressed grumpy and grumpy

So not run for three days just because it's been busy. Not feeling great about it and the world.
I feel the need, the need just to run.....
